Meet Your Instructor

Dr. Alexis Kennedy founded Compassion Recharge after decades of working in the field of human trafficking. A faculty member at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, her research and teaching for the past six years has focused on compassion fatigue, burnout, and the cumulative effects of working with victims or people in crisis. 

 Recognizing the toll that working in stressful jobs can take, she uses her psychology background to bring concrete stress management solutions to first responders and health professionals. Dr. Kennedy has multiple certifications in resiliency tools and best practices in stress management. She knows that now, more than ever, it is vital for healthcare workers to adopt strategies for mental wellness and self-care.
